The international exhibition and public program of the 2026 Biennale Matter of Art will be held in three main locations: National Gallery Prague – Trade Fair Palace, GAMPA – City Gallery Pardubice, and Tusculum Prague, from June 12 to September 13 2026.

Jan Bačynsjkyj, Adrián Kriška, and Aliza Orlan, exploring the themes of migration and displacement, as well as queer identity in the context of spirituality.

“Where the finest flour was milled for a hundred years, culture is now spreading.” GAMPA will host the second part of the 2026 Biennale Matter of Art exhibition in Pardubice. The cooperation with City Gallery Pardubice, which has been located in the former mill complex Automatické Mlýny since 2023, marks the biennale’s first expansion outside the wider metropolitan area of Prague.

The exhibition will present artists from Romania, Poland, Iran, Portugal and Ukraine amongst other countries and regions: Ștefan Bertalan, Cezary Bodzianowski, Nosrat Karimi, Anne-Mie Van Kerckhoven, Běla Kolářová, Isadora Neves Marques, Margaret Raspé, Alex Sihelsk*, Fedir Tetyanych a Liliana Zeic.

A part of the 2026 Biennale Matter of Art will be held at Tusculum Prague in the historic Chittussi Hospital complex. The atelier and residency center, which is run by the cultural platform Petrohradská kolektiv, will host a series of workshops with the interdisciplinary artist group StonyTellers.

The participants will get a chance to contribute to the newly emerging community vegetable garden on the premises of Tusculum. The garden of the historic sanatorium is a place where people, animals, and plants can recharge, spend time, enjoy nature, and discover different ways of living together and caring for one another.
