The book A Decolonial Feminism (2025, Karolinum), by French political theorist and activist Françoise Vergés, brings topics to the Czech and Slovak context that are not common in the mainstream feminist discourse—ranging from the colonial complicity of white feminists to the racialization of care and systemic wear and tear on non-white bodies to a critique of the appropriation of activist narratives by global capital. At the summer meeting of the SdruŽeny collective’s decolonial circle, we will read selected excerpts from the book together and create a collective work connecting the ideas of decolonial feminist politics with practice. The format will thus combine accessible knowledge-sharing, mutual listening, and creative manual labor that resists the logic of capital. Participating in the creation of this collective work will be simple; it will literally be an act of connecting, interweaving, and repairing a network of mutuality and history, which the dominant narrative presents to us only in distorted fragments.
