The Biennale opening weekend: guided tours, performances, artist talks and more

The opening weekend of the Biennale Matter of Art 2024 starts in Prague, Czech Republic on June 13, in the National Gallery – Trade Fair Palace. The evening will comprise performances by Antje Schiffers, a live collaboration of the music project Peasants in Atmosphere with the folklore ensemble Lada, and The Rodina, who will present a performative take on the Biennale's visual identity. The afterparty with Ukrainian DJ AXT will take place in the Kolektor cafe.
On Friday, June 14, the public program continues in the Trade Fair Palace, with performances by the collective björnsonova, artitsts Olia Sosnovskaya and Elske Rosenfeld, and the artist and writer Kateryna Aliinyk.
The weekend ends with the opening of the second venue, the Lidice Gallery, on June 15. There, you can look forward to an artist talk by Nikita Kadan, author of the curatorial intervention to the Lidice Art Collection, followed by a film screening of Dana Kavelina's film The Lemberg Machine. Lastly, there will be a discussion with Kavelina and Nikita Kadan, Kateryna Lysovenko, Marta Popivoda and Miloslav Vorlíček.
An additional guided tour of the exhibition in the Trade Fair Palace will take place on June 15 at 11 a.m., led by the curators and selected artists of the Biennale. All events including the opening ceremony are accessible for everyone and free of charge 🙌
