Christmas has arrived in the Matter of Art online bookshop, where you can find new bargain bundles of books on feminist theory and prose, postcolonial thought, and art theory as well as newly stocked artistic publications from the 2000s and 2010s. We are also offering a 20% discount on all orders placed before the end of 2024.

New titles
Among the new titles in tranzit.cz’s offer this year are the Czech edition of the book Raving by the American trans theorist McKenzie Wark, the children’s newspaper Tohle nejsou blbosti (This is not baloney), and the collection of art theory texts Sowing Unrest, which was published as part of the 2024 Biennale Matter of Art. The final new release of the year is the Czech edition of Working Girl: On Selling Art and Selling Sex by New York writer, artist, and sex worker Sophia Giovannitti, translated by Toby Wehle and Ondřej Trhoň, which will be available starting 5 December. The online bookshop is also now offering releases published by tranzit.cz between 2005 and 2015, including art publications and artist books by ncluding art publications and artist books by Jiří David, Ján Mančuška, Kateřina Šedá, Václav Stratil, and Jiří Valoch.
Bargain Bundles
The Sisterhood Set comprises five titles of feminist thinking and writing published by tranzit.cz for the special price of 990 CZK (the regular price for the entire series is 1410 CZK). Please note that these are Czech editions.
The Postcolonial Theory Set includes essential texts by Frantz Fanon, Homi K. Bhabha, Achille Mbembe, Edward W. Said, Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak, and others. All four volumes are available together for the special price of 790 Kč (the regular price for the entire series is 1280 Kč).
The Cultural Revolution Pack is composed of two titles gives space to those whose voices are often marginalized, and not only in the art world. Both titles are thought-provoking material for contemplating the decolonization of art institutions and participatory methods of artistic work. The discounted price of the bundle is 320 CZK, while the original price is 400 CZK.
The last new items are bundles dedicated to the Biennale Matter of Art, the third edition of which was organized by tranzit.cz in Prague in the summer of 2024. Each edition of the biennale is accompanied by the publishing of a reader—a collection of artistic and theoretical texts that develops the themes of the individual biennale exhibitions in a unique and topical way. In the bookshop you can find a bundle of the three readers published for each of the three editions of the biennale, sets combining this year’s biennale reader and other selected books, and a bundle with this year’s reader and a biennale-themed T-shirt designed by the studio The Rodina.
