Tereza Stejskalová – Smrt umělce. Ať žijí pomocnice! (Death to the Artist. Long Live the Helpers!)
Children's Newspaper "Tohle nejsou blbosti"

This set of two titles gives space to those whose voices are often marginalized, and not only in the art world. Both titles are thought-provoking material for contemplating the decolonization of art institutions and participatory methods of artistic work. The discounted price of the two-title bundle is 320 CZK, while the original price is 400 CZK.

The children’s newspaper Tohle nejsou blbosti (This is not baloney) was collectively created by a children’s editorial board during a series of creative workshops and an urban camp as part of the 2024 Biennale Matter of Art in Prague. The newspaper gives a voice to those we often assume we know well and feel the need to control. It disrupts traditional hierarchies about who should listen to whom and who should learn from whom and whether the only goal for a child should be to become a normalized adult as soon as possible. We should listen to children and take their ideas and feelings seriously.

The second title asks what the art world would look like if female helpers stepped out of the shadows of male artists. Curator and critic Tereza Stejskalová’s engrossing essay Smrt umělce. Ať žijí pomocnice (Death of the artist. Long live the helpers!) reveals the world of invisible labor that lies behind the scenes of artistic production and operations, which, despite being indispensable, is often poorly paid.
