Marie Lukáčová
Marie Lukáčová (*1991) is a painter, animator, director, rapper and co-founder of the feminist group Čtvrtá vlna (Fourth Wave), she has started the debate about sexism in czech higher education. She primarily works with the mediums of video and video installation, her films transform symbols borrowed from the fields of politics, mythology, geology or science. In 2019, she was one of the finalists of Jindřich Chalupecký award. She currently works as a teacher at the Center for Audiovisual Studies at FAMU in Prague.
Lukáčová completed an artistic residency held in 2021 in Prague in the framework of the tranzit.cz / Biennale Matter of Art project Center and Periphery: Cultural Deserts in Eastern Europe, funded by a grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway (EEA and Norway Grants) in the program Culture. The residency resulted in the creation of a new work that was exhibited at the second edition of the Biennale Matter of Art 2022 in Prague.
