The GALAS Collective was founded in Warsaw in 2022 in response to the war in Ukraine, with the goal of supporting people affected by war, forced displacement, and the erasure of Ukrainian culture. What began as an act of solidarity has grown into ongoing support for migrant and refugee communities and cultures facing oppression. The collective works through participatory, performative, and culinary approaches in order to build connections, share knowledge, fundraise, and create community.
