František Fekete (*1993) earned his master’s degree in 2020 from the Center for Audiovisual Studies at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague. He also completed educational stays at Aalto University in Helsinki and the Studio of Graphic Design and New Media at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague. He has been one of the curators of the artist-run gallery 35m2 since 2015. He has also worked as a curator with other art institutions, for example, the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (2019-2020), GAMU in Prague (2019), the Brno House of Arts (2017), and others. His texts have been published in magazines (Flash Art, Pižmo), online (Artalk.cz, Artlist), as well as in printed publications (Peter Fabo: Nail Art, Sam83 Gallery: Práce). His works as a visual artist focus on the medium of digital imagery, including film, photography, collage, and installations, and have been exhibited in a number of Czech galleries. In 2020, his graduate film project was presented in the competition section for experimental films at the Jihlava International Documentary Film Festival. He was also a finalist in the Other Visions competition section at PAF Olomouc in 2018.

Fekete completed a curatorial residency held in 2022 in Oslo in the framework of the tranzit.cz / Biennale Matter of Art project Center and Periphery: Cultural Deserts in Eastern Europe, funded by a grant from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway (EEA and Norway Grants) in the program Culture. The residency resulted in the creation of a new work that was exhibited at the second edition of the In the Matter of Art Biennial in 2022 in Prague.
