Magda Stojowska

Magda Stojowska is a theater director and dramaturg. She studied Polish studies at the Jagiellonian University, directing at PWST in Kraków, and a PhD program at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre of DAMU, during which she held a scholarship at the Institute for Applied Theatre Science in Giessen, Germany. In the Czech Republic, she has created productions for Studio hrdinů, MeetFactory, Archa Theatre, and the association Živé město as well as original productions for the community center Nesedím, sousedím. In Poland she worked in the dramaturgy department of the National Stary Theatre in Kraków. There she participated in the creation and production of theater festivals as well as the production and dramaturgy of artistic projects. As a dramaturg she has worked with Krystian Lupa, Agnieszka Holland, Anna Smolar, Iga Gańczarczyk, Michał Borczuch, Wojtek Ziemilski, and others. She is a co-founder of the community center Nesedím, sousedím in Prague’s Břevnov neighborhood, where she contributes to the center’s conception and organization. She runs the editorial office of the center’s children’s magazine and organizes theater projects with children. Since 2023 she has been teaching in the MA program Directing of Devised and Object Theatre at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theatre at DAMU.
