Fůd

FŮD Magazine (est. 2015) is a platform for socially engaged illustration and comics, organized from the very beginning by Veronika Homolová, Barbora Müllerová, and Barbora Tögel. In addition to the eight issues of the magazine dedicated to topics such as ecology and environmentalism in contemporary illustration (FŮD no. 7 – Zelí, 2020) or ostracism and social exclusion (FŮD no. 8 – Cedník, 2021), the editorial team began publishing a new series, FŮD ZINE, in 2024, which is thematically broader in scope and formally focused exclusively on visual media. Two issues have been published in this series so far, in which selected Czech and international authors address the theme of money (FŮD ZINE no. 1 – Mastnej účet / Bloody Bill, 2024) and work or working conditions (FŮD ZINE no. 2 – Šichta / The Shift, 2025). The editorial team has organized six exhibitions: four in Prague (Girls, Here’s a Rag. Feminism, Gender, and LGBTQIA+ in Contemporary Illustration, 2019; Urban Jungle. Life in the City, 2020; The Pencil Tip. Contemporary Socially Engaged Illustration and Comics, 2021; The Pencil Tip in Support of Ukraine, 2022) and two abroad (The Pencil Tip at Kunsthal Gent, 2022, and at the Ukmukfukk Festival in Budapest, 2024). At the end of 2025, to mark the tenth anniversary of FŮD, Barbora Mullerová published the book Pencil Tip: The Context and Strategies of Contemporary Engaged Illustration and Comics, based on the author’s dissertation research and the platform’s

activities.
