András Cséfalvay
András Cséfalvay (*1986) is a Slovak visual artist, mythopoet, and associate professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bratislava. After studying painting and mathematics, he focused his research on the reality and usefulness of fiction. Through digital animation, installations and world-building he investigates “nonhuman” perspectives—from extinct species to subatomic particles and AI. His work interrogates the relationship between culture and technology as well as the political and ethical aspects of listening to nondominant voices in world interpretation. He is a laureate of the Oskár Čepan Award and the Main Prize of the Tatra banka Foundation Award for Art. He has recently exhibited at institutions such as KW in Berlin, Trafó in Budapest, Muzeum Sztuki in Łódź, Art in General in New York, Karlin Studios in Prague, and the Hungarian National Gallery in Budapest. He is a cofounder of the Digital Arts Platform.
