Dóra Hegyi in conversation with Hajnal Németh

”I consider the ability to think, and thereby be cognizant, more important than the ability to empathize or sympathize“ – says the artist Hajnal Németh in the new interview conducted by the curator Dóra Hegyi. The text is a part of an ongoing series which aims to introduce the ten artists who will participate in the upcoming festival of performance art We Are All Emotional, Have We Ever Been Otherwise? Towards New Gestures of Empathy. The event was supposed to take place in November 2020 but had to be cancelled due to the pandemic of COVID-19. In the meantime we decided to connect with the artists through this series of interviews thematizing emotions in difficult times. 

The festival curated by the tranzit.org network and organized by the Biennale Matter of Art will take place in the autumn of 2021 in Prague.
