Caliban and the Witch by Silvia Federici is one of the most influential feminist texts of the 20th century. The book overturns the established view of medieval society and reveals the oppression of women by the church and the state, which manifested itself in particular in the murderous witch trials, as the source of patriarchal oppression and inequalities that women around the world still face today.
trans girl suicide museum by American writer and clinical psychologist hannah baer is a radical memoir that captures the author's gender transition in a fragmentary narrative, uniquely revealing the personal, physical, social, and political aspects of her radical transformation. Although the two books were written at different times (Caliban and the Witch was first published in the 1980s), they are convincing proof that the personal is political and serve as stimulating material for reflecting on the contemporary world and thinking about ways to change it. Both books are translated by Sylva Ficová and are the first Czech editions of both texts.
