The fourth edition of Biennale Matter of Art kicks off tonight, on Thursday June 11. Guide

Instead of a printed guide, we have chosen a more environmentally friendly option. In all three main locations, you will find panels with information about the artworks and artists in Czech and English. The same texts are available in our online guide, which you can conveniently view on your mobile phone or other device, and read while exploring the exhibition or anywhere else.

Merch

The 2026 Biennale Matter of Art official merch includes a collection of screen-printed organic cotton t-shirts made in collaboration with with artist Barbora Gallo, embroidered caps with the exhibiton title Necessary Wishes, a set of stickers with the 2026 Biennale visual identity by Martin Czeller & Andrea Vacovská, and a limited edition of silk scarves featuring artwork reproductions by Noor Abed, Aliza Orlan, and Anne-Mie van Kerckhoven. By purchasing the merch, you support the biennale and get a unique piece for the upcoming summer season. The merchandise is available at the Trade Fair Palace and GAMPA.

First day of the exhibition

The exhibition in all three locations in Prague and Pardubice (Trade Fair Palace, GAMPA, Tusculum Prague) will open for the first time on Friday, June 12, 2026, according to the opening hours of each venue. The last day when the biennale is open at all three locations is September 13. The exhibition at the City Gallery Pardubice (GAMPA) continues until September 26. We recommend setting aside one day for the Prague and Pardubice parts of the biennale.

Free admission and accessibility

Entry to all biennale locations and events is free of charge. You can revisit the biennale multiple times, bring a large group or family. All exhibition sites are wheelchair accessible and welcoming to people with small children or mobility limitations. Each location offers seating areas, restrooms, and cafés with refreshments.

Guided tours

We host guided tours almost every week in Czech and English. The exhibition will be led either by the biennale curators (František Fekete, Jakub Gawkowski, or Jaroslava Tomanová), the artistic director Tereza Stejskalová, guides from the National Gallery Prague and GAMPA, or selected artists. We always aim to help you find a deeper experience and reflection on the works and themes encountered at the exhibition.
