The word “shella” comes from Egyptian Arabic slang and means “a group of friends who do things together.” Shella Radio is a Prague-based community radio rooted in the fertile club scene but expanding into public discourse through political talk shows, panel discussions, and more. The audience is invited to join one of the live events with DJ sets or relax in Shella’s listening station at the National Gallery.

During Pride Week, the Shella Radio collective invites you to Planeta Za club space for a workshop, lectures, and DJ sets. The program begins at Planeta Za with a workshop on music production and DJing. It will continue in the garden with two lectures focused on open queer topics. The first lecture will address building safe spaces for the queer community. Local collectives and active members of the Shell Radio community will share their experiences in creating such spaces. This will be followed by a lecture titled Queer Art as a Form of Resistance, featuring local artists and curators from the Ve věci umění 2026 biennale, to discuss the significance of queer art and its diverse forms, as well as creating space in the art world where art, through its creation, identity, political stance, and self-expression, can resist the system. The day will end with DJ sets from Shell Studio.
