Greetings from the Ruins: Conversations with Artists
Length: 01 hours 20 minutes
While working on the exhibition in the former laundry space, the artists and curators circulated around topics and words which have remained important for the whole process of shaping the Biennale. Terms such as debris, waste and purification, poor image, circulation of life, and outsourcing, creating a link between Eastern Europe and the Global South, brought together a mosaic of variable tracts, which we have made use of in reading and re-contextualizing the artworks. With reference to this, a two-session panel discussion will take place with the artists participating in the exhibition, located in the second Biennale venue, at which visitors are invited to embark upon an overall investigation of the meaning of their art. The program will be split in two panel discussions.
Panel 1: Artists: Hera Büyüktaşcıyan, Mandy El-Sayegh, Lenka Vítková, Marie Tučková; Curators: Renan Laru-an, Rado Ištok
Panel 2: Artists: Michal Baror, Anca Benera and Arnold Estefan, Barbora Kleinhamplová, Rudolf Samohejl; Curators: Piotr Sikora, Rado Ištok
