The final part of the björnsonova non-collective’s series of performative readings will take place after dark in the exhibition space of the Biennale Matter of Art in the Grand Hall of the Trade Fair Palace.
In the nocturnal space, when the night is especially dense, there is a dark side of emancipation from the all-pervading light of visibility and rationality. Night is a shelter, an intimate container where whispering can be heard and a common space for reading can be enabled. For the new episode of the Good Night Readers series, björnsonova and their invited guests have collected various theoretical, poetic, and creative texts under the title RED (cats), which center around stories about sadness and hope, about darkness and blood as substances and symbols. Red stands for communist utopia and cats as the main anti-capitalist protagonists. It stands for vampire stories, blood, liquid, drug, addiction, or the essence of life. Red blood as protection, purification, the uterus, erotics, and libido. It is also a real crime – violence, murder, rape.
