Tomek Pawłowski-Jarmołajew

Tomek Pawłowski-Jarmołajew is a curator, chef, performer, and educator based in Białystok. They participated in the alternative curatorial programs School of Curators (Swimming Pool, Sofia, 2018) and What Could/Should Curating Do? (Belgrade, 2019). The exhibitions, performances, and events that they curate often combine contextual research and collective processes with elements of hospitality, rituals, and entertainment. Their curatorial projects and exhibitions have been presented in Warsaw, Prague, Gdansk, Belgrade, Poznań, Sofia, Brno, Vienna, and Berlin, among other places. They recently curated the exhibition The World Does not Believe in Tears: Longing and Trauma in the Art of Białystok and Podlasie at the Arsenal Gallery in Białystok (2022) and Apostasia: Rituals of Letting Go at Garage Gallery in Prague (2021). They were a member of the curatorial team of the 2020 Biennale Zielona Góra. As a chef, they facilitate various food-based educational programs and group processes, including the School of Kindness, the Minitremu Art Camp, the Dutch Art Institute, and the MeetFactory residency program. They are obsessed with swimming pools, food markets, and karaoke.
