Ester Grohová
Ester Grohová is a musician, artist, and cultural worker. She graduated from CAS FAMU. She creates zones of rest and dream worlds, weaves collective performative rituals, and is a director of coincidences. She often works collaboratively and uses multichannel sound to create environments. Themes of resistance, collective care and connection, utopia, escapism, intersectional feminism, and interspecies communication are currently the focus of her work. She uses the forms of performance, installation, video, and musical composition to manifest these ideas and emotions. She is part of the collective Seaslugs of the Coral Reef Shrine and the author of the project Garden of Desires. She was the art director of the 2024 Jindřich Chalupecký Award Ceremony as well as the relaxation exhibition zone of Y EVENTS: RESTFUL GARDEN at the 2024 Kutná Hora Performing Arts Festival. She created the music for Czech Radio’s audio drama Mr. Theodor Mundstock, which won first prize at the Grand Prix Nova and second prize at the 40th Prix Bohemia Radio. In 2020 she received an honorable mention at the Ji.hlava IDFF for her short film Nobody Needs to Know About This, He Said, in the section Fascinations: Exprmntl.cz.
