Attila Tordai-S. (*1970) is a curator and the current director of tranzit.ro/Cluj. He studied art at UAD Cluj. In 1999, he founded Studio Protokoll and was curator there until 2007. He was the editor of the magazine Balkon Cluj and the founding editor of the magazine IDEA arts + society (2001–2007). In 2011, along with other philosophers and artists he initiated and co-founded SPAC (The People’s School of Contemporary Art), and in 2012 he co-founded the association tranzit.ro. He has curated and organized art events in Romania and abroad and lectured at numerous universities and conferences. In 2006, he was curator of Periferic 7 – International Biennial for Contemporary Art in Iași, Romania. His curatorial approach is characterized by a commitment to social criticism and pedagogical inquiry. Since 2018 he has been working on a pedagogical camp project in Câmpu Cetății Romania, which he initiated together with Kata Torda-Soos, Nelson Fitch, and Veronica Roth.
